Tokkuri page 4
Very rare hand-painted soldier & horse tokkuri.
Nicely drawn, but the coloring seems have been done in haste.
Inscribed (somewhat faded) 'Cavalry Transport, Discharge Commemorative.'
There is a red mark on the reverse that is most likely the artist's personal
seal, but I cannot identify it.
Embossed and painted Army star.
Inscribed 'China Incident Victorious Return Commemorative' on the
reverse and 'Loyalty & Bravery Commemorative' in raised kanji on
the obverse.
A rare item. Shaped like a flag on a pole, the top of
the staff comes off in two parts: one part a sake
cup and the other a stand for the cup.
Somewhat scarce WW1 bottle.
Inscribed 'Conquer Germany
Commemorative.'
Artillery shell bottle with embossed kanji that say 'Great Victory.'
This no doubt had a sake cup that rested on the top, but it is missing.
Very rare brown porcelain tokkuri. It resembles Bizen pottery, but there is no mark from that kiln.
There is an artist mark, but I cannot read it.
The soldier is nicely detailed and has two bombs strapped to his back. The two large
blossom-shaped areas on the back appear to have been for inscriptions, but nothing is written here.
Originally I imagine that there was a combat helmet sake cup that went atop his head.
