Very rare tank cup with fukizumi blossoms.
Inscribed 'Tank 1st Regiment, Uchikawa.'
The 1st Regiment was from Fukuoka (Kurume) and was formed in
1933. Here are a few highlights of this regiment.
12/1941: (25th Army) Battle of Malay, Fall of Singapore
4/1942: (18th Division) Battle of Burma
7/1942: Stationed in Manchuria
2/1945: Stationed in Tochigi Prefecture, preparing for the final battle.
Very rare Army tank design. The
paint is clear and the drawing is
nicely detailed. Tanks rarely appear
on bottles and cups, and this one is
a very nice example.
There is also an embossed
Japanese flag and some cherry
blossoms.

Commemorative.'
Inscribed in the bowl 'Dispatch Commemorative, Tank Unit 2nd Regiment.'
The slogan reads 'Your body is lighter than a feather, but duty is heavier than a mountain. Do your
duty and you can return home and enjoy the blossoms.'

The 2nd Tank Regiment was formed on August 1, 1937 (Showa 12) in Narashino, Chiba Prefecture.
At the beginning of the Pacific War, this regiment was placed in the 55th Division and was
dispatched to places like Malay and Burma.

In April 1945 the 2nd Tank Regiment was transferred to the 2nd Independent Tank Brigade and went
home to protect Japan. At the end of the war, it was in Kanagawa Prefecture.
