| I almost wrote 'Stamped Patterns VS. Hand-painted Patterns', as though it were a contest. However, there are some beautiful stamped patterns as well as hand-painted ones, and some of the hand-painted patterns (especially of horses and birds) are clumsily done. So it is difficult to claim one as superior to the other. In my opinion, though, the hand-painted cups (even the ones poorly done) are more interesting than the stamped ones. They often are more fluid, more personal, and more aesthetically pleasing. Here are a few examples to show differences. I am also working on a soldier cup page that will contrast stamped soldiers with hand-painted ones. |
