Very scarce Illumination Unit cup, hardly ever seen. These
units were generally part of the Anti-aircraft Units, but this one
is also marked '1st Signal Unit, Illumination Unit.'

Inscribed 'Signal Unit Commemorative, Matsumoto'.
This cup is a good example of all 3 symbols. The kanji
is in a handwritten script, so it is hard to read.
Only the battery insignia is on this cup.
Written here is KONOE (Imperial Guard). Here
are 2 of the 3 symbols.
The banner has one of the Soldier Virtues written in it: 'A
soldier must be Loyal.' Rather uncommon pattern. The
other characters read 'Hiroshima Signal Unit, Discharge
Commemorative'.
