Inspection Stickers
Price tags
8 sen. The top reads '11th Grade' and the
bottom 'Japan Pottery Association
Inspection Sticker' so this also doubled as
an inspection sticker.
6 sen. The top reads 'Pottery' and the
bottom 'Japan Pottery Association
Inspection Sticker'
Patent markings
These 4 kanji appear often on bases. They
mean 'Registered for a Patent.'
Patent numbers with same insignia above. I'm not sure
what it means. It looks like two stylized kanji.
Unknown markings. But they do not appear to be
regiment numbers.
Two classes of lacquered wood cup stickers, the 1st class being
better than the 2nd. The top line reads 'Pass Inspection' then '1st
Class'. Then 'Japan Urushi Union and Association'.
Another patent number. Above is the kanji for
'Approval.'
These two price tags were on the small, 5.5 cm porcelain cups.
Sometimes engraved, sometimes embossed.
