| Kabuto helmet cup with three artillery shells base. The pattern shows the sleeping cat of Nikko Shrine, one of the most famous shrines in Japan mainly because of its gaudy decorations and because it is the mausoleum of Tokugawa Ieyasu. This is a pre-WW2 cup, probably 1930s. It is inscribed on the outside 'Good Luck to the Military, Shrine Visitation Commemorative.' Under the cat it says 'Nikko Sleeping Cat.' shrineshrine |
