| Once in a while you can find an American flag on cups. These usually date from the 1910s and 1920s, when relations were not so frosty. This cup is interesting because it not only has an American flag, it is also a named warship cup. The ship is the Izumo, which probably made a stop in an American port. The kanji says 'DISPATCH TO AMERICA.' |
