This is read, in Japanese, Chouyoumon, and from the sparse information I found, this was the old name of Chuuzanmon, the main gate in the city of Nanking. This was famous for being the place where the Japanese flew the Hinomaru in 1937. Also inscribed 'Stationed in Peking, Discharge Commemorative, 41st Infantry.' |
