Branches & Trees
There are a variety of branches and trees on sake cups. The most common
trees are pine and cherry.

Branches also appear in a number of different ways, most often as an
accent for a main design. Of course cherry blossom branches are the most
common, but one can also find strings of mums and paulonia leaves (both
Imperial symbols), bamboo, pine, plum, and others.

There is an unindentified branch that resembles a laurel. Although laurel
doesn't play a role in the traditional symbolism of Japan, its presence may
be due to its appearance in European imagery.
