Military Academy, page 2
JISSHI GAKKOU Practice School. This cup is from a Cavalry
school, so I guess they practiced various skills necessary for
the cavalry.

Cavalry Academy
symbol. See below
for another example
and a photograph.
A sake cup from Imperial Japan (dated 1900).

The engraved characters on the reverse read, 'Infantry 22nd
Regiment, 1st Division,
Officer's School, Imperial Army, Major
Imazu Toshiba, Meiji 33 [1900], August.'  Very rare to find a such
a high rank inscribed on a cup.
Artillery Academy cup, fairly rare. The
characters read 'Artillery Firing Academy.'
Excellent lacquered wood military cup, dated Showa 15
[1940] on the box lid. The name on the lid matches the name
on the cup. The characters read 'Military Lecture
Commemorative, Kumamoto Prefecture Officer Academy,
Gift to Imamura.' The insignia has a Rising Sun badge in the
background, crossed wings [?], and the kanji for DIVISION or
INSTRUCTOR.
Cased two-cup silver sake cup set from the Army Academy. The
engraved characters on the side read 'Army Academy Graduation
Commemorative'. Not stamped PURE SILVER, but they look and feel like it.
The Army Academy double star is above a cannon. The
bowl is inscribed 'Artillery Academy, Discharge
Commemorative.'
Here in blue is the same symbol that appears on the
Cavalry Academy cup above. Note that this resembles the
kanji for
kabuto (helmet), but the small line at the bottom
(a circle on this cup) is different than the kanji. Inscribed:
'26th Cavalry Commemorative.'
This soldier has the same symbol on his collar.
Artillery Academy cup. Interesting bolts of energy streaking
down from the crane. The inscription reads, 'Electric lighting
Technical Skills, Graduation Commemorative'. And on the
reverse 'Heavy Artillery Firing Academy, Hasegawa.'
The inscription reads 'Railroad
Academy, Signal Unit Squadron'.
Superb tank sake cup try with Academy Double Star at the top.
Labeled 'Army Academy Tank Regiment.'
